Lee, Lions roll Tornado for third straight win
The Mars Hill baseball team (10-11) defeated King (9-5) by a score of 16-1 on Tuesday afternoon on Henderson Field.

MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill baseball team (10-11) defeated King (9-5) by a score of 16-1 on Tuesday afternoon on Henderson Field.
After a pair of scoreless innings, the Lions' offense woke up and would account for 15 hits on the day, four of which being home runs. The first homer on the day belonged to Zach Weaver, who launched a two-run shot over the scoreboard in the bottom of the third inning that scored Alex Naran. In the bottom of the fourth, Scottie Lee came to the plate a hit a three-run shot, only to be followed by Ruben Trillo's deep blast down the left field line that scored Tyler Lala and Naran. In the bottom of the sixth, Lee recorded his second home run on the day, scoring Chapel Matson.
Lee recorded five RBI on the day while Trillo went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI.
Brian Smart started on the mound for the Lions and threw four complete innings, only allowing two hits, and was awarded the win. Trevor Beards was given the loss for the Tornado.
The Lions are in action this weekend for a three-game conference series against Carson-Newman. First pitch is set for Friday, March 11th at 2 p.m. at Henderson Field.
