Women’s Lacrosse drops conference contest at Anderson

Anderson, S.C. —- The Catawba College women's lacrosse team fell on the road at Anderson in South Atlantic Conference action on Saturday afternoon. The Trojans improve to 8-4 on the season and 3-2 in the SAC, while Catawba drops to 2-9 overall and 0-4 in league play.

Caroline Cox led Catawba with two goals. Audrey Adelesberger recorded three ground balls and three caused turnovers. Evie Kauserud had 14 saves in goal for Catawba.

Anderson scored the game's first four goals before Joey Baillie got Catawba on the board at the 1:26 mark. The Trojans scored twice more to end the first quarter, leading 6-1 after 10 minutes. AU scored each of the seven goals in the second quarter, leading 13-1 at halftime.

The Trojans scored six more goals in the third quarter and made it 16 unanswered goals early in the fourth, leading 20-1 six seconds into the fourth. Cox scored off a Helena Cronemiller assist at the 12:13 mark before the Catawba Indians scored the game's final three goals, as Ella McCusker, Mary Sorvillo and Cox found the back of the net late in the game.

Catawba returns to Shuford Stadium Wednesday, continuing SAC action with a matchup with Coker at 4 p.m.
