Haven's Goal Lifts Women's Soccer Over Wingate

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Catawba stayed unbeaten with a 1-0 victory over visiting Wingate in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action on Wednesday at the Frock Soccer Complex. The Catawba Indians, ranked 19th in NCAA II, ups its record to 7-0-1 overall and 3-0 in the SAC. The Bulldogs fall to 2-4 and 0-4.

Catawba scored the lone goal on a corner kick. Kelly Havens picked up the winner on the hour, putting home the corner from Kasey Hahn. The Catawba Indians made that goal hold up over the remaining 30 minutes.

Sierra Davis collected a pair of saves off five Wingate shots to earn the clean sheet. Catawba got off 10 shots with Katrine Thisgaard making two saves. Catawba took 11 corners to just one for Wingate.

Catawba will be at home again on Saturday, hosting Coker at 7 p.m.
