Mars Hill scores four in second half, overcomes Coker

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (6-4-1, 3-3 SAC) rallied late in the second half to defeat Coker (8-3, 3-3 SAC) by a score of 4-3 Saturday night on the road.
Mars Hill scored three goals in the final 6:32 of the contest to come away with a pivotal South Atlantic Conference victory.
Trailing 3-1 entering the 84th minute, Sebastian Bertilsson scored his 10th of the season to pull the Lions within one goal. Just over 1:30 later, Bertilsson assisted on the game-tying goal, put in by Alberto Aletta for his first career goal.
With 1:32 remaining in regulation, Nolan McMillen netted the game-winning goal, capping off the three-goal comeback. The tally was the first of his career.
Coker opened the scoring in the 13th minute as Luca Leonini put the Cobras up by one. Early in the second half, Peter Plougmand tied the game for the Lions, scoring his fifth goal of the season. Bertilsson assisted on the goal.
Bastiaan Jager would go on to score the next two goals, his first coming in the 62nd minute and second entering the 80th.
The Lions scored on all four shot attempts in the second half despite being outshot in the contest 15-7. Jager and Markos Tourokis each recorded a game-high three shot attempts. Tatum Cartner led the Lions with two attempts on goal.
Brennan Whalen made four saves for his sixth win of the season while Jasper Rump stopped one in the loss.
Mars Hill returns to the pitch on Wednesday, October 13 when they host Lenoir-Rhyne. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. inside Meares Stadium.
