Mars Hill nets six, defeats Shaw
The Mars Hill men's soccer team (8-5-2) defeated Shaw (3-9-1) by a score of 6-0 Wednesday night inside the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium.

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (8-5-2) defeated Shaw (3-9-1) by a score of 6-0 Wednesday night inside the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium.
The Lions had six different goal scorers, including five who netted the first of their careers.
Jeppe Christensen scored his first career goal off of a free kick eight minutes into the game. In the 13th minute, Crishawn Mills put the Lions up by two. With 17 seconds remaining in the first half, Max Gaither put home a Braxton Robinson cross to extend the Lions' lead to three.
In the 54th minute, Peter Plougmand blasted his seventh of season past the Bears' goalkeeper. Just over four minutes later, Riley Browning scored off of a Chase Jordan cross. To cap off the scoring, Tyler Bridgewater tapped in his first of the season.
The Lions outshot Shaw 41-2 with Kevonte Willoughby-Williams leading all players with six. Browning added five.
Brennan Whalen and Joshua Doran combined for the shutout with Whalen making both stops. Juan Ramirez made 17 saves in the losing effort.
Mars Hill returns to the pitch on Saturday, October 30 when they host Newberry on Senior Day. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
