Emmanuel strikes late, downs MHU

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Mars Hill baseball team (12-20) was defeated by Emmanuel (14-19) by a score of 5-3 Sunday evening.
Emmanuel struck in the bottom of the seventh, plating the go-ahead runs, enough to secure the win. Will Pittman played hero, driving in two off of a single to center field.
The Lions opened the scoring as Tyler Lala plated Kameron Reynolds. Hunter Reeves tied the game for Emmanuel later in the frame with a RBI single that scored Luke Patty.
Patty scored his second run of the contest in the bottom of the fifth, coming in off of Tony Matos' double.
After Emmanuel added another run in the bottom of the fifth, it took Hunter Holland one swing of the bat to tie the game at three with a two-run home run to left field, plating Zach Weaver.
Pittman led all players with three RBI while four Lions recorded two hits apiece. Holland and Austin Purser led the Mars Hill offense with two hits apiece.
Eli Turso was credited with the win, throwing two scoreless innings. Adam Biss earned his second save of the season.
Mars Hill wraps up the series on Monday, April 12. First pitch is set for 12 p.m.
