Trojans Fall to Bulldogs; 66-58

Anderson, S.C.- The Anderson University women's basketball dropped its second straight South Atlantic Conference contest falling to Wingate, 66-58, on Wednesday evening at the Abney Athletic Center. The Trojans slide to 11-8 overall and 10-7 in SAC play, while the Bulldogs improve to 9-8 overall and 8-7 in conference action.

"Very disappointed with our defensive rebounding," said head coach Jonathon Barbaree. "If you are not making your own shots, you can't give the opposing team that many second chances."

KEY STATS

- Anderson shot 37.9 (22-58) percent from the field, while Wingate shot 40.6 percent (26-64).
- The Bulldogs outrebounded Anderson, 48-32.
- Wingate shot just 12.5% (1-of-8) from behind the arc, with AU shooting 20.0 percent (5-of-25).
- The Black and Gold recorded 12 blocked shots.

KEY TROJANS

- J'Mya Cutter scored a team high 14 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists and recorded two blocked shots.

McKenzie Gadson netted 12 points, two rebounds, two assists and three blocked shots.

- Nelliah Wilson contributed a career-high nine points and equaled her career-high with five rebounds in 26 minutes of action.

- Britney Bailey and Alexis Tate ripped down eight and six rebounds, respectively.


NOTES

- Anderson is 1-7 when trailing at the half.
- The Trojans are 1-6 when getting outrebounded.
-This was Anderson's first regular season back-to-back loss since January of 2018.
