Trojans Drop Season Opener at Catawba; 77-63

Salisbury, N.C.—Anderson University women's basketball team could not overcome its slow third quarter falling to Catawba, 77-63, on Saturday afternoon at Goodman Gymnasium. The Trojans fall to 0-1 overall and 0-1 in South Atlantic Conference play, while Catawba moves to 1-0 overall and 1-0 in conference action.

"It was so fun to just play basketball again," said head coach Jonathon Barbaree. "I'm really excited about our team. Considering we have had 12 practices with our full team this year and only have 11 active players, I thought we played well."

"Defensively, I made some bad decisions in the first half, but I thought we responded well, said Barbaree. "We are young on the perimeter with all sophomores and freshman so we are going to be learning on the fly all year."

"Now, we have some great film vs one of the best teams in our league to watch and get better," added Barbaree.
