Lions fall to No. 6 L-R to conclude 2021 season

HICKORY, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (3-10, 1-9 SAC) was defeated in their 2021 season finale against No. 6 Lenoir-Rhyne (11-1, 9-1 SAC) by a score of 27-8 Saturday evening.
The Bears outscored Mars Hill 22-3 in the first half, including a 14-2 second quarter. Myles Moffat and Eric Dickinson scored twice in the first frame while Toron Eccleston and Jack Dickinson each scored twice in the second.
Justin Lundy scored the lone Lions' goal in the first while Braden Hoskyn and Trevor Kennedy scored 21 seconds apart in the second. Lundy and Kennedy both scored in the third, the only goals of the frame.
Kennedy led the Lions' offense in the final 15 minutes of play, netting two goals. Brandon Beland scored the final Mars Hill goal of the game with just over seven minutes remaining.
Eric Dickinson led all players with six points (2g, 4a) while three other Bears each posted three points. Kennedy led the Lions with four goals followed by Lundy's three points (2g, 1a).
