Due West, S.C. —- The Catawba College women's tennis team was defeated by the Erskine Flying Fleet on Friday in the first matchup of a two-day road trip, falling short by a final of 5-2

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Catawba's No. 3 pairing of Nika Dundovic and Tina Gomes picked up their matchup, taking a 7-6 victory, although it wouldn't be enough

- Veronika Poliakova and Sofia Hernandez Mera would each bounce back from their earlier doubles loss to pick up individual wins. Poliakova picked up the #5 match by a score of 6-4, 6-1, while Hernandez claimed the #6 match, 6-0 and 7-5

- The women are back in action tomorrow, taking on Barton on the second day of their back-to-back. The men's team also returns to action, taking on Barton as well
