Jimmo Scores Hat Trick as Women's Soccer Tops Chowan
MURFREESBORO, N.C. -- Catawba rolled to a 5-1 victory over host Chowan in women's soccer action on Wednesday at the Hawks Soccer Field. The win improves the Catawba Indians to 3-0-1, while the Hawks fall to 0-4.
Sydney Jimmo scored a hat trick for the Lady Indians, while Katie Beck and Hannah Dunn also added goals in the win.
Beck got the scoring started in the 27th minute, scoring on a rebound off a shot from Jimmo. Jimmo netted her first in the 39th minute to close the first half scoring.
Dunn scored on a breakaway early in the second half before the Hawks got on the board in the 49th minute with a breakaway by Sabrina Henderson. Jimmo added two goals on either side of the hour, scoring after a free kick that was flicked ahead and then off a corner kick.
Catawba opens league action on Saturday, hosting Anderson at 5:30 p.m.
