Mars Hill completes series sweep of Limestone
The Mars Hill baseball team (10-27, 7-11 SAC) defeated Limestone (12-22, 4-11 SAC) by scores of 13-6 and 17-9 to complete the weekend sweep.

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill baseball team (10-27, 7-11 SAC) defeated Limestone (12-22, 4-11 SAC) by scores of 13-6 and 17-9 to complete the weekend sweep.
GAME ONE: MHU 13, LU 6
The Lions used a seven-run third inning to propel themselves to the game one victory.
After falling behind 4-0 after two, Zach Weaver's two-run home run cut the Limestone lead in half. Silas Isenhour followed with a solo home run and later in the inning, to tie the game, Chad Sikes' single scored Luke Hayes.
A Limestone error allowed Sikes to score the go-ahead run. Back-to-back RBI singles from Chapel Matson and Jordan Lathe saw the Lions lead 7-4 after three. Sikes struck again in the fourth with a two-run triple.
In the top of the sixth, Chandler Brooks cut into the Mars Hill lead with a two-run home run. Dawson Connell responded in the bottom of the seventh with a two-run double and was followed up by RBI singles from Hayes and Sikes.
Connell led all players with four hits while Sikes and Lathe added three apiece. Sikes led all players with four RBI.
Dearl Edens picked up the win, striking out five in five innings. Sam Kaplan also struck out five in four innings of relief work.
GAME TWO: MHU 17, LU 9
Mars Hill scored seven runs late to complete the weekend sweep.
The Lions, leading 10-9 entering the bottom of the fifth, began to pull away. Alex Naran's RBI single upped the lead to two runs entering the sixth. In the bottom of the frame, the Lions added six runs, highlighted by Naran's two-run single.
Dawson Connell put the Lions up 3-0 after the first inning with a bases clearing double to left center. In the top of the third, Limestone plated four, highlighted by a pair of RBI doubles from Noah Love and Dylan Shugan.
Answering in the bottom of the frame, Mars Hill scored five, capped off with a Tyler Sellers' two-run double.
Limestone cut the lead down to one in the top of the fourth as Love's two-run single plated the Saints' seventh run. In the bottom of the stanza, Zach Weaver blasted a two-run home run to left.
Love led all players with four hits and three RBI. Lathe led the Lions with three hits while the quartet of Naran, Weaver, Connell, and Sellers each collected three RBI.
Luke Hayes earned the win, allowing two runs on four hits in 2.2 innings thrown.
The Lions take on King on Tuesday, March 4 on the road. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
