Women’s Soccer Drops Road Match at Newberry; 3-1

Newberry, S.C. – The Anderson University women's soccer fell to South Atlantic Conference opponent Newberry 3-1, on Thursday evening at Smith Road Complex. Anderson falls to 1-6 overall and 1-5 in SAC play, while Newberry moves to 4-4 overall and 2-4 in conference action.

"It was a nice opportunity to play a lot of players and reward them for their hard work over the past year," said head coach Sarah Jacobs. "I will miss this group and thank them for all they have done for the program. We will enjoy some rest and then start preparing for the fall season."

Newberry scored first in the 10th minute of action, with AU's Havon Ashy scoring the equalizer in the 44th minute of play.

The Wolves went on to score two more goals, one in the 52nd and 63rd minute of action to put away the Trojans, 3-1.

The Wolves outshot the Trojans, 10 (5) – 9 (5) with Anderson taking eight corner kicks to Newberry's three.
