Bio

Megan Sanger serves as the Associate Commissioner for Conference Programming and Compliance for the South Atlantic Conference (SAC), after originally joining the league staff in March 2021 as Assistant Commissioner for Compliance. She also serves as the league’s Senior Woman Administrator (SWA).

In her role, Sanger provides leadership and oversight of the Conference’s compliance services and directs conference-wide programming, including student-athlete development and governance initiatives. She leads several key committees, including the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the Enforcement/Infractions Committee, and the Student-Athlete Health and Safety/Welfare Committee.

At the national level, Sanger currently serves on the NCAA Division II Women’s Volleyball Committee and was formerly on the NCAA Division II Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee. She is also a certified NCAA DISC Facilitator and a 2024 graduate of the Women Leaders in Sports Leadership Enhancement Institute.

Sanger came to the SAC from Allen University where she served as Director of Compliance. In that role, she helped lead the institution through its transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II during its initial provisional year of NCAA membership. Prior to Allen, she spent five and a half years at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, rising to Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and Administration/SWA. Originally hired at Pembroke in August 2013 as an assistant volleyball coach and aquatics director, Sanger transitioned to athletics administration after three seasons. Her responsibilities there included managing compliance operations, organizing annual fall and spring graduation breakfast programs for graduating student-athletes, delivering NCAA sexual violence prevention training, and overseeing the Braves Buddies student-athlete mentorship initiative.

A former volleyball student-athlete at Claflin University, Sanger remains active in the sport as a certified volleyball official. In 2023, she earned her Professional Association of Volleyball Officials (PAVO) National Line Judge Certification at West Point.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Claflin University in 2009 and a Master of Physical Education in Athletic Administration from Idaho State University in 2011.
