ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University men's tennis team dropped a South Atlantic Conference match, 8-1, against the Bulldogs from Wingate on Tuesday afternoon at the AU Tennis Complex.

With the loss, the Trojans fall to 11-3 overall snapping their seven match win streak and 1-2 in conference play while Wingate improves to 7-2 overall and 4-0 in SAC action.

The Bulldogs took a 3-0 advantage heading into the singles round by narrowly defeating the Trojans in all three slots. WU's Daniel Belsito and Josh DuToit (WU) defeated Nicolas Ascarrunz and Jeffrey Dayton (AU), 9-8, at the No. 1 slot while Bulldog tandem Tyler Schofer and Amir Zari (WU) won over Ignacio Bidegain and Fabricio Lanza (AU), 8-5.Wingate's Duncan Addison and Theo Dessacs (WU) escape defeat from Juan Carracedo and Jerry Price (AU), 9-7.

In singles action, Bidegain was the only Trojan to earn a point avoiding the shut-out.

The Trojans hit the road to play SAC opponent Mars Hill on Saturday. First serve is slated for 2 p.m.
