Softball Takes Down Union (TN)

COLUMBUS-Ga- The Coker Univerisity softball team took down Union (TN) today (Feb. 13) 8-3 in their final game of the Cougar Classic.

The Cobras would jump out ahead in the second inning when Brooklyn Stuness doubled to left field, scoring Mackinzie Harmon. 

Coker would take their 1-0 lead all the way into the fifth inning when Delaney Eaves single to center would score Ava Jay. Delaney Eaves would come around and score later on a Union (TN) error. 

In the bottom of the fifth Union (TN) would tie things up at 3-3.

Bailey Douglas would give Coker the go-ahead run when she would blast a homerun to left field. 

Coker would add six insurance runs in the sixth. Ava Jay would reach home on a wild pitch, Delaney Eaves triple to right field, scoring Makayla Cuthbertson and Ariana Fair. Kayla Oswell would seal the game for the Cobras with her RBI single through the left side, bringing home Eaves and making the final game score 8-3. 

Coker is back in action this Wednesday (Feb. 16) when they host Mount Olive in their home opener doubleheader. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m. with live coverage available at www.cokercobras.com
