#31 Men’s Tennis advances to first SAC semi since 2007

Sumter, S.C. —- The 31st-ranked and 2nd-seeded Catawba College men's tennis team defeated 7th-seed Limestone to advance to the program's first South Atlantic Conference semifinal in 17 years on Thursday afternoon at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

- The 44th-ranked duo of Edoardo Cecere and Ryan Little picked up a 6-4 win over Andre Zamorano and Andres Cortes 

- Tyler Juergens and Paul Dekester clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win in #3 doubles over Ramiro Rincon and Giovane Calou

- Cecere added another point toward the Catawba win with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Louca Bertone in #1 singles play

- Marcos Castares earned a 7-6, 6-3 win in #5 singles over Andres Cortes

- Little helped clinch the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win in #6 singles over Berhelemy Bourdon

- Mateo Berne was leading in the third set, Alessandro Valleta led in the second and Tyler Juergens was even at one set apiece when the clinch point was reached
