Sumter, S.C. —- The 31st-ranked Catawba College men's tennis team fought hard, but fell short in the South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis tournament title match, 4-2, to 11th-ranked Wingate on Saturday afternoon.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Wingate took the first two doubles matches to earn the doubles point

- Mateo Berne earned a 6-4, 6-4 win in #2 singles action

- Marcos Castares finished an impressive week with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 win in #5s

- Alessandro Valleta was tied 2-2 in the decisive third set when the championship point was clinched
