Tennis splits matchup at Carson-Newman

Jefferson City, Tenn. —- The Catawba College women's tennis team improved to 4-0 on the season and 3-0 in the South Atlantic Conference on Saturday, edging Carson-Newman 4-3. The men's team fell 6-1 to the Eagles, dropping to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in league action.

Catawba's women took the doubles point, as the #2 team of Carolina Correia and Sofia Hernandez won their match 6-4 and Miya Ami and Tina Gomes won the point via forfeit.

The men lost their doubles point, but Tyler Juergens and Ryan Little did take their doubles match 7-6.

Little went on to go 2-0 on the day with a win in #5 singles 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.

Both teams are back in action on Sunday, traveling to Georgia College in non-conference action.
