Coker Field Hockey Drops Season Opener on the Road

Wingate, NC-In a tough match against Wingate, the Coker Field Hockey team struggled to find their footing and ultimately fell short with a final score of 0-5. Despite their best efforts, Coker was unable to mount a comeback.

The game started off with Wingate taking an early lead, scoring their first goal at the 8:12 mark. Wingate managed to find the back of the net, putting her team up 1-0. Coker's defense was unable to stop the attack, allowing Wingate to extend their lead to 2-0 at the 14:59 mark as Alex Muscillo scored with an assist from Charne Steyn.

With the score standing at 2-0 in favor of Wingate, Coker pushed hard to get back into the game. However, their efforts were fruitless as Wingate's defense held strong. The first half ended with Wingate still leading 2-0.

In the third quarter added two more goals. Wingate went up 3-0. Just a few minutes later, at the 35:09 mark, Alex Muscillo scored her second goal of the game with an assist from Lauren Montgomery, extending Wingate's lead to 4-0.

 Wingate added another goal at the 55:12 mark, as Rylie Cordrey scored her second goal of the game with an assist from Alex Muscillo, making the final score 5-0 in favor of Wingate.

Despite the loss, Coker will take this game as a learning experience and use it to fuel their drive for future matches. They will analyze their performance and work on improving their teamwork, offensive strategies, and defensive tactics. With hard work and dedication, Coker will undoubtedly bounce back stronger in their upcoming games.
