Cobras Fall to Nighthawks in Saturday Matinee

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Coker University men's basketball team could not overcome their foul troubles on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 13) as they dropped their non-conference matchup against the University of North Georgia by a score of 67-60.

Both teams traded blows in the first half as the Nighthawks lead never grew to more than five as they carried a 37-35 lead into the halftime break. The Cobras utilized the three-point arc to keep the game within reach, but costly fouls down the stretch would be their downfall in the second stanza.

Senior Chandler Lindsey once again carried the load for the Cobras on the offensive end as he contributed a game-high 19 points. Freshmen Glenn Bynum Jr. and Zavier Measmer tallied 12 and 11 points respectively, as both reached double-figures for the first time in their young careers. Junior Williams Onyeodi led the Cobras on the glass as he snatched eight boards to go along with his four points.

Coker will be back in action on Tuesday (Nov. 16) as they host the Livingstone College Blue Bears, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Live coverage can be found at www.cokercobras.com
