#3 Women’s Soccer moves to 9-0 for first time since 2004 with road win at MHU

Mars Hill, N.C. —- The 3rd-ranked Catawba women's soccer improved to 9-0 for the first time since 2004 on Saturday, defeating Mars Hill 1-0 on the road after Bree Ehmer's game-winner in the 74th minute.

 

TEAM STATS

- Catawba out-shot Mars Hill 20-0

- The Catawba Indians held the advantage in shots on goal 4-0

- Catawba took all 12 corner kicks on the afternoon

 

INDIVIDUAL LEADERS

- Ehmer scored the game-winner

- Her second game-winner of the week

- Sydney Jimmo recorded a game-high six shots

- Lillie Rusher added a pair on goal

- Ashley Hughes earned her seventh win of the season in another shutout

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

FIRST HALF

- Rusher got the first shot on goal of the game in the 32nd minute

- Was the lone shot on target in the first half

 

SECOND HALF

- Helen Summerell forced a save from the MHU goalie less than five minutes into the second half

- Rusher added another shot on goal in the 58th minute

- Ehmer broke through in the 74th minute for her sixth goal and second game-winner in as many 

 

UP NEXT

- Catawba returns home to Frock Field on Saturday, hosting Lincoln Memorial for its Pink Out game next Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
