Men's Tennis Knocks off Tiffin to Start Spring Break

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Coker University men's tennis team began its Spring Break play with a 5-2 victory over Tiffin on Tuesday (Mar. 3).

Coker won two out of three doubles matches to secure the doubles point, before winning four out of six singles matches to get the victory.

Carlos Pinedo and Luis de Vuyst posted a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles over Hugo Chatras and Gabriel de Oliveira, before Hunter Horton and Isaac MacMillan shut out Tom Blaquiere and Matthew Telford 6-0 at No. 3 doubles.

Justus Lehmann defeated Michael Gurtner 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles, before Horton beat Telford in straight sets 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3. Pinedo picked up a 6-2, 6-1 victory over de Oliveira at No. 5, before MacMillan closed things out with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Blaquiere at No. 6.

 The Cobras (5-0) return to action tomorrow morning (Wednesday, Mar. 4) to face Warner at 8:00 a.m.
