HOW IT HAPPENED

FIRST SET

- Neither side could pull away for the first half of the opening set, with the biggest lead being two points as both teams traded points in a 12-12 start. A four-to-two Anderson start would be answered by a three-to-one Catawba stretch as they took a six-to-five lead

- The Trojans would respond with a five-to-one point run, threatening to pull away at 10-7. But Catawba responded with three straight points thanks to a pair of Jordan Danielson kills and another from Chretien to knot the set back up

- But it would be Anderson from then on, as the Trojans proceeded to go on a six-to-three run to force a Catawba timeout, with the visitors finding themselves trailing 13-16. But out of the timeout, the Trojans would make it a nine-to-four stretch to stretch the lead to 19-14, forcing another Catawba timeout

- Two straight Catawba points out of the timeout looked to bring them back into the set, but a five-to-one response from Anderson to put Catawba on the brink, 24-17, would snuff any potential comeback out. The Trojans would take Set One, 25-19.

SECOND SET

- Catawba looked to respond in Set Two, and came out of the gates quickly to establish a three-point lead at seven-to-four. Chretien led the way with a pair of kills, though three straight Anderson points would level the set up

- Catawba proceeded to answer right back, reeling off four straight points as each of the Danielson's scored a kill to take their largest lead of the night in any set and force Anderson into a timeout

- The timeout would prove to be a turning point though, as Anderson answered right back with four straight points of their own before it was Catawba's turn to call a timeout

- The timeout would appear to swing momentum as Catawba took a 14-13 lead, but that would be the last time they led in the set as Anderson put together an 11-2 run to set up match point at 24-16.

- Catawba wasn't finished, clawing back with three straight points to pull within five, but it was too late as Anderson took the second set 25-19

THIRD SET

- Anderson's momentum would carry over into the third set, as they scored the first two points via a pair of kills and would not trail at all during the final frame

- Jordan Danielson and Chretien kept Catawba close early, but three-to-four Catawba ran out of steam. An eight-to-two Trojan spurred on by a series of errors forced a Catawba timeout, and though Catawba came out on a three-to-one run with another pair of Jordan Danielson kills and one from Kelcie Love the Trojans didn't waver

- Anderson proved to have one more huge run in them to close the set out, outscoring Catawba 12-4 after Danielson had cut the lead to 8-13. Six straight from the Trojans would conclude the set at 25-12 and give Anderson the victory
