The South Atlantic Conference Posts Five Volleyball Teams in the NCAA Regional Rankings
Wingate, Carson-Newman, Lenoir-Rhyne, Anderson and Tusculum represented the League in the women’s Southeast Regional Rankings.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted five volleyball teams the NCAA Regional Rankings, the NCAA announced today. Wingate, Carson-Newman, Lenoir-Rhyne, Anderson and Tusculum represented the League in the women's Southeast Regional Rankings.
Wingate came in at No. 1 in the rankings and is ranked No. 12 in the nation by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The Bulldogs are 28-2 this season. Carson-Newman came in at No. 5 in the rankings as it is 25-5 on the year. Close behind the Eagles is Lenoir Rhyne at No. 6. The Bears are currently 21-8 on the year. Anderson's 23-7 record was good for the No. 7 spot, while Tusculum rounded out the SAC at No. 9 with a 16-14 overall record.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Volleyball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
