The South Atlantic Conference Announces WePlayed Sports Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets contested during the third week of competition. Lenoir-Rhyne's Sharonda Priester earned the track honor while Newberry's Irma Watson-Perez earned the field honor.
Priester, a sophomore sprinter, set a school record in the 400m with a time of 54.50 at High Point's Vertklasse Invite, which ranks seventh in DII. Priester also set a personal best with a time of 24.37 in the 200m.
Watson-Perez, a senior thrower, won the discuss with a throw of 43.22m. She added a second-place finish in the weight throw with a distance of 50.34m.
