Wingate Named Preseason Favorite in Women's Outdoor Track and Field; Athletes to Watch Announced
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Wingate Bulldogs have been picked as the top team in the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Poll, the League announced Friday (March 21). The Bulldogs picked up 12 first-place votes and received 144 points from the League's head coaches.
Lenoir-Rhyne placed second in the poll with 132 points and collected the remaining one first-place vote. Lincoln Memorial took third with 108 points, and Catawba was voted No. 4 with 105 points. Anderson came in at No. 5 with 102 points, followed by Tusculum at No. 6 with 98 points.
Carson-Newman took the No. 7 spot with 81 points, while Newberry took the No. 8 spot with 66 points. Limestone earned 58 points to come in at No. 9, while Mars Hill finished with 40 points in tenth. Emory & Henry had 37 points in the No. 11 spot, Coker had 27 points for No. 12, and UVA Wise took No. 13 with 16 points.
The 2025 SAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place April 30-May 1 at the Lenoir-Rhyne University track in Hickory, N.C.
