Lenoir-Rhyne's Brown Named 2024 SAC Women's Outdoor T&F Athlete of the Year
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne's Alexis Brown has been named the 2024 South Atlantic Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year, the Conference office announced on Thursday (June 5).
Brown, a sophomore from Mableton, Ga., earns her second straight SAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year Award. She also has won two straight SAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year honors. She was named the Indoor Regional Athlete of the Year as well.
In her sophomore campaign, Brown was a four-time National Champion across Indoor and Outdoor seasons. She won the 60m and 200m dash in Indoor Championships and followed that up with an individual national championship in the 100m in Outdoor Championships. She was also on the National Championship 4x100m relay team and was a First Team All-American in the 200m dash where she finished third overall. At the SAC Championship Outdoor meet, she won the 100m and finished second in the 200m dash.
The SAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year award is determined following the completion of the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championship and is voted on by the league's head coaches.
