36 From SAC Qualify for NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship
INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee has announced the participants for the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. A total of 754 participants, 377 men and 377 women, will compete in the championships. The SAC is represented by 15 females and one relay team while the men have 21 individuals and one relay team.
Student-athletes qualified for the championships by reaching a provisional standard established for each event. The complete list of qualifiers is available at https://results.leonetiming.com/?mid=7270. Heat sheets will be available at this same website by Tuesday, May 21.
On the women's side, Lenoir-Rhyne leads the way with four student-athletes along with a 4x100m relay team while Wingate has three representatives. Catawba, Carson-Newman and Tusculum each have two.
On the men's side, Wingate paces the conference with a staggering 11 qualifiers while Lenoir-Rhyne has five and the 4x400m relay team. Anderson, Catawba, Newberry, Tusculum and Limestone each have one qualifier.
The championships will be held May 23-25 in Emporia, Kansas at the Welch Stadium. Emporia State University will serve as host of the championships. The championships will be streamed live on www.NCAA.com.
