The South Atlantic Conference Announces WePlayed Sports Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets contested during the sixth week of competition. Lenoir-Rhyne swept the awards as Victoria Aransiola was named the Track Athlete of the Week and Holly Kone was named the Field Athlete.
Aransiola, a freshman, competed in the USC Outdoor Open, winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.24, which is the second-fastest in the SAC and the fourth-fastest in Division II. She finished third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.45, which is the second-fastest time in the SAC and ninth in Division II.
Kone, a junior from Nottingham, England, competed in the USC Outdoor Open, winning the triple jump event with a leap of 12.69 meters. The jump was a personal best and was the second consecutive triple jump event that Kone has finished at the top.
