The South Atlantic Conference Announces WePlayed Sports Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets contested during the second week of competition. Lenoir-Rhyne's Alexis Brown was named the Track Athlete of the Week, while Carson-Newman's Brooke Taylor was named the Field Athlete of the Week.
Brown, a sophomore from Mableton, Ga., collected two first-place finishes at the Montreat College Open. She finished first in the 100-meter race with a time of 11.61 and finished first in the 200-meter race with a time of 23.96.
Taylor, a sophomore, finished first in the women's long jump at the Montreat College Open on Friday (March 22). She finished the event with a 5.56-meter leap. Taylor also competed in the women's triple jump, placing third with a 11.18-meter mark.
