The South Atlantic Conference Announces WePlayed Sports Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets contested during the first week of competition. Lenoir-Rhyne swept the weekly awards as Sharonda Priester was named the Track Athlete of the Week and Holly Kone was named the Field Athlete of the Week.
Priester, a freshman, competed in the LR Bears Open this past weekend. She recorded a new school record with a first-place time of 1:03.49 in the 400-meter hurdles and recorded a second-place time of 14.92 in the 100-meter hurdles. Priester ranks No. 1 in the SAC in the 400-meter hurdles and No. 2 in the 200-meter hurdles.
Kone, a junior from Nottingham, England, recorded a 12.05-meter leap in the triple jump at the LR Bears Open, hitting an NCAA DII Provisional mark. She currently ranks No. 1 in the SAC and No. 2 in the region in the event.
