Queens' Ulseth Named South Atlantic Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens' Elise Ulseth has been named the 2019 South Atlantic Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year, the Conference office announced on Monday (June 3).
Ulseth, a freshman from Kristiansund, Norway, made her presence known in her first year of collegiate competition. She earned All-American honors and finished fourth in the heptathlon at the NCAA Division II National Championship and placed fourteenth in the long jump. She also won the SAC heptathlon and accounted for 33 of her team's points at the SAC championship. At the SAC championship she placed second in the long jump, fourth in the triple and high jumps, as well as fourth in the 100-meter hurdles.
In addition to his success at the NCAA and SAC championships, Ulseth was named the USTFCCCA Southeast Field Athlete of the Year and was named SAC Outdoor Track & Field Freshman of the Year. She earned all-region honors in the heptathlon; high jump, long jump and javelin throw and was a SAC AstroTurf Field Athlete of the Week honoree.
The SAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year award is determined following the completion of the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championship and is voted on by the league's head coaches.
