Tusculum's Green-White and LR’s Kone Take Home SAC WePlayed Sports Indoor T&F Athlete of the Week Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets contested during the fifth week of competition. Tusculum's Theresa Green-White earned the track honor while Lenoir-Rhyne's Holly Kone garnered field honors.
Green-White, a junior sprinter/hurdler from Stafford, Texas, broke her own school record in the 60m hurdles at the VMI Winter Relays. She ran 8.57 seconds in Friday's prelims and 8.51 seconds in Saturday's finals, which marked the fastest time in the SAC and the eighth-fastest in Division II this season. She added a fifth-place finish in the 60m at 7.73 seconds.
Kone, a senior jumper from Nottingham, England, won the triple jump at the Carolina Challenge with a mark of 12.04m (29-6.00). That figure ranks as the best in the conference and is twelfth in Division II this year.
