The SAC Announces WePlayed Sports Women's Tennis Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Coker's Emerson Banning has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played during week five of the 2025 season, the Conference announced today.

Banning, a senior from Queensland, Australia,  was a combined 4-0 this week, recording victories over Anderson and Mount Olive. The Anderson match was especially noteworthy, as she defeated former SAC Player of the Week Gigi Sompayrac in straight sets, dominating in a first-set tiebreak and throughout the second set. In that match, she provided the clinching point as the Cobras defeated the Trojans 4-2, who already have 10 wins to their name this season. All of her matches this week were won in straight sets, capping off a great performance for her and the team.
