Four SAC Women's Teams and Seven Individuals Ranked in Latest Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Division II National Rankings
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association and Oracle unveiled the latest Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Division II National Rankings on Wednesday and the South Atlantic Conference is well represented.
TEMPE, Ariz. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association and Oracle unveiled the latest Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Division II National Rankings on Wednesday and the South Atlantic Conference is well represented.
The computerized rankings publish the Top 50 men's and women's teams. ITA member coaches have access to the unpublished rankings (teams outside the Top 50). Prior to the shift to computerized rankings, a national rankings panel voted on the Top 25 teams.
Four SAC schools were ranked in the Top 50 women's teams with Tusculum leading the way at No. 15. Wingate came in at No. 22, followed by Queens at No. 38 and Newberry at No. 47.
National singles and doubles rankings were also updated for women and Tusculum's Katarina Majorova is ranked No. 15 in singles, while Anderson's Laura Dean is ranked No. 25. Tusculum's Annie McCullough and Franziska Funke rounded out the singles rankings at No. 55 and No. 59, respectively.
In doubles action, Tusculum's Annie and Caitlin McCullough are ranked No. 5, while Wingate's Michela Verpelli and Meredith Lee are ranked No. 45.
National rankings will be released every Wednesday for the remainder of the 2018 season.
