The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played between Oct. 7 and Oct. 14. Lenoir-Rhyne midfielder Neve Duston was named the offensive player of the week, while Tusculum goalkeeper Danielle Breen was named defensive player of the week.
Duston, a freshman from Palm City, Fla., recorded her first career hat trick in the No. 12 Bears' 5-0 win over Newberry last week. She scored her three goals, including the game-winner, on four shots earning six points. This is Duston's first offensive player of the week award for 2019.
Breen, a senior from Sicklerville, N.J., led the Pioneers to a pair of shutout victories last week, including a 1-0 win over regionally ranked Wingate. She earned a 2-0 shutout victory against Shaw with three saves, and then made 10 saves in the win over Wingate. This is Breen's first defensive player of the week accolade this season.
