Cade Ridley Named South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Men’s Wrestler of the Week
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Cade Ridley of King has been chosen as the inaugural South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Men’s Wrestler of the Week of the 2020-21 season.
A native of Lula, Georgia, Ridley was pivotal in King’s season-opening win at Belmont Abbey on Saturday, Jan. 9. The Tornado trailed 21-15 going into the final bout of the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas showdown. The 2020 NCAA Championships qualifier pinned Jordan Hawthorne in 1:32 to even the dual score at 21-all.
King earned the bonus point on number of pins in the dual to give the Tornado the thrilling 22-21 victory over the 25
th-ranked Crusaders. The nationally-ranked Ridley now has two match-clinching pins in his career as he also pinned Preston Sell of Emmanuel in 1:13 in the 2018-19 season to garner King a 25-24 win over the Lions.
