Jobs and McCabe Earn SAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference has announced its WePlayed Sports Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played during week seven of the 2025 season. Emma Jobs of Newberry has been named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Kathryn McCabe of Wingate has been named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Jobs, a senior, led Newberry to a 2-0 week, recording 10 goals and 1 assist for 11 total points. She tallied 6 goals and 1 assist in a 19-8 SAC victory over Tusculum and added 4 goals in a 19-15 win against Belmont Abbey. Jobs also contributed 3 ground balls, 3 draw controls, and a caused turnover, helping Newberry extend its strong start to conference play.
McCabe, a sophomore defender for No. 20 Wingate, anchored a defensive unit that led the Bulldogs to two wins, including the second shutout in program history with a 22-0 victory over Mars Hill. She registered 15 draw controls, 9 ground balls, and 4 caused turnovers, including 8 draw controls and 4 caused turnovers in the Mars Hill shutout. McCabe's efforts helped Wingate limit Mars Hill to just one shot in the entire game.
