Four SAC Women's Basketball Teams in Final Regional Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (theSAC.com) – In the final regional rankings before Selection Sunday, the South Atlantic Conference boasts four teams in the top 10. Eight teams in the Southeast Region will advance to NCAA play.
Coker comes in at No. 2 in the regional rankings. The Cobras defeated Limestone in the SAC Quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals. Coker owns a 24-4 record and is pushing to be the top seed in the region.
Carson-Newman is No. 5 in the region. The Eagles also earned a SAC Quarterfinal win, taking down Lincoln Memorial. The Eagles boast a 21-7 record.
Anderson is No. 7 in the rankings and earned the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament. They take on Mars Hill in the quarterfinal round this evening. Anderson is 19-9.
Wingate is in the No. 8 spot with an 18-10 mark. The Bulldogs play Catawba in the SAC Tournament Quarterfinals.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
