Carson-Newman's Penland Earns SAC Wealth Enhancement Group Elite 23 Award for Women's Basketball
ROCK HILL, S.C. (theSAC.com) – Carson-Newman's Campbell Penland was honored as the 2024-25 SAC Women's Basketball Wealth Enhancement Group Elite 23 award winner on Tuesday (March 4).
This award honors the student-athlete with the top cumulative grade-point average (based on a minimum of 48 credit hours) in each of the league's 23 team championship sports.
Penland, a senior guard from Sevierville, Tenn., has a 4.00 GPA and 111 credit hours earned while studying biology. On the court, Penland has averaged 11.4 points per game with 4.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest. She has started 27 of her 28 games played this year and dropped a season-high 25 points against Tusculum on Nov. 20.
