Anderson's McDowell Brings Home SAC WePlayed Sports Women's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Anderson forward Diamond McDowell has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week 16 of the 2024-25 season, the Conference announced today.

McDowell, a forward from Asheboro, N.C., earned her 16th double-double of the season after scoring 22 points and ripping down a career-high 26 rebounds to end regular season play at Tusculum. On Wednesday, she hauled in a game-high 15 rebounds to go along with nine points and seven steals. For the week, McDowell totaled 15.5 points per game and 20.5 rebounds per contest. Her stellar play helped the Trojans close out the season with nine straight wins and secure the third seed in the SAC Championship.
