Coker and Carson-Newman Remain in Top 25
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) -- The WBCA and D2CSC National Women's Basketball Polls were released this afternoon and the South Atlantic Conference boasts two nationally ranked programs.
Coker jumped to their highest ranking of the season in each poll. The Cobras are up to No. 16 in the WBCA poll and No. 19 in the D2CSC poll. They jumped one spot in the WBCA poll and are up four spots in the D2CSC. Coker had just one game last week, defeating Lincoln Memorial 62-55 on the road to improve to 13-1 overall and a league-best 9-1 in conference play.
Carson-Newman remains in the national rankings for the tenth consecutive week. However, the Eagles lost by four against LMU on Wednesday before bouncing back on Saturday to beat Newberry by 20. With the loss, Carson-Newman fell out of the D2CSC poll after slotting in at No. 16 last week but remain at No. 25 in the WBCA poll. C-N sits at 12-4 overall and 9-3 in the SAC.
