Pair of SAC Women's Basketball Teams Nationally Ranked
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) -- The WBCA and D2CSC National Women's Basketball Polls were released this afternoon and the South Atlantic Conference boasts two nationally ranked programs.
Carson-Newman remains in the national rankings for the ninth consecutive week. The Eagles dropped from No. 6 to No. 16 in the D2CSC poll and fell from No. 15 to No. 22 in the WBCA poll after dropping a contest to Coker on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Cobras moved up in both polls. Coker went from No. 23 to No. 17 in the WBCA poll and went from receiving votes to No. 23 in the D2CSC poll. Coker is 12-1 overall on the season and 8-1 in SAC play while winning five straight games. Most recently, they beat Carson-Newman 71-65 for their second win over a nationally ranked opponent this season.
