Carson-Newman Moves Up One Spot in both National Polls
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Following a pair of victories this past week, Carson-Newman (8-1, 6-1 SAC) moved up one spot in both division II women's basketball national polls. The Lady Eagles moved up one spot in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association poll from 11 to 10 and in the Women's College Basketball media poll from six to five, both of which were announced Tuesday afternoon.
This is the sixth week in a row that the Lady Eagles have been ranked inside the top ten of either poll. It's now the second time this season that C-N has been ranked inside the top five of the media poll, having been ranked top ten by the media voters all season long. Moving back into the top ten of the coaches poll, it's now the third week that Carson-Newman has been ranked in the top ten by the WBCA.
