Wingate's Anderson Wins WePlayed Sports Women's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate forward Lia Anderson has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week five of the 2024-25 season, the Conference announced today.

Anderson, a sophomore from LaPlace, La., led the Bulldogs to wins over SAC foes Anderson and Newberry last week. Anderson went off against the Trojans, pouring in 33 points on 16-of-26 shooting and added nine rebounds and a blocked shot as Wingate won 66-50. For the week, Anderson shot 55.6 percent from the floor and averaged 21.5 points per game to go with 8.0 rebounds. This is her second consecutive SAC Player of the Week honor.
