UVA Wise's Burnside Named SAC WePlayed Sports Women's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – UVA Wise forward Sable Burnside has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week one of the 2024-25 season, the Conference announced today.

Burnside, a senior from Morristown, Tenn., helped UVA Wise to a 2-0 opening week with wins over Clayton St. and Flagler. Burnside had a career day against Flagler, tying her career-high in points (28) and setting new career-highs in rebounds (15) and blocks (5). For the week, she averaged 22.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game while shooting 55.9 percent from the field.
