Ten SAC Softball Players Selected for NFCA 2018 Division II All-Region Teams
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced the 2018 NFCA Division II All-Region teams.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced the 2018 NFCA Division II All-Region teams. A total of 10 South Atlantic Conference student-athletes, six on first team and four on second team, were named to the Southeast Region teams.
In all, this year's squads are comprised of 207 student-athletes from 120 programs.
The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's eight regions with first and second team selections. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to the 2018 NFCA Division II All-America squads.
Earning first team honors were Anderson catcher Cailah Niles, Coker first baseman Maria Williamson, Lenoir-Rhyne outfielder Erin Boone, Newberry designated player Haley Simmons and from Carson-Newman utility/pitcher Lacie Rinus and utility/non-pitcher Abby Fiessinger.
Lenoir-Rhyne pitcher Emily Kenley, Newberry shot stop Natalie Willis, Tusculum outfielder Delaney Guerrero and Wingate utility/pitcher Aubrey Reep, were all named to the second team.
The 2018 NFCA Division II All-American teams will be announced on Wednesday, May 23 at the NCAA Division II National Championship Banquet in Salem, Va.
