The South Atlantic Conference Announces 2018 Softball Championship MVP and All-Tournament Team
Carson-Newman’s Lacie Rinus was tabbed the 2018 South Atlantic Conference Softball Championship MVP as voted by the tournament participant head coaches, the Conference announced today.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman's Lacie Rinus was tabbed the 2018 South Atlantic Conference Softball Championship MVP as voted by the tournament participant head coaches, the Conference announced today. The panel also selected an 11 member All-Tournament Team.
Rinus, a sophomore from Murfreesboro, Tenn., earns her second consecutive SAC Championship MVP Award, after posting three complete game wins to lead Carson-Newman to the 2018 SAC Softball Championship title. She pitched 21 innings, allowing just four earned runs on 16 hits with 22 strikeouts. She posted a 1.33 ERA for the tournament and she averaged 7.33 strikeouts per game.
Carson-Newman led the way with four players on the All-Tournament Team, followed by Coker with three players and Anderson with two players on the team. Queens and Wingate finished out the team with one selection each. Below is a look at the 2018 SAC Softball Championship All-Tournament Team.
