Lenoir-Rhyne Sweeps South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors
Lenoir-Rhyne outfielder Erin Boone has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Softball Player of the Week, and Lenoir-Rhyne left-handed pitcher Emily Kenley has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played Mar. 12-18, the League announced today.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne outfielder Erin Boone has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Softball Player of the Week, and Lenoir-Rhyne left-handed pitcher Emily Kenley has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played Mar. 12-18, the League announced today.
Boone, a junior from Creedmoor, N.C., led the No. 12 Bears to a perfect 6-0 week, including a sweep of Tusculum to start conference play. She batted .588 (10-for-17) with two home runs, three doubles, seven RBI and five runs scored. She also had a slugging percentage of 1.118 this week and an on-base percentage of .667.
Kenley, a junior from Charlotte, N.C., went 3-0 last week in the circle for the No. 12 Bears. She earned wins against Augusta, USC Aiken and Tusculum, and helped Lenoir-Rhyne extend its winning streak to 15 games. For the week, she allowed just one earned run in 20 innings of work with 18 strikeouts and a 0.35 ERA.
This is Boone's first Player of the Week accolade this season, while this is the second Pitcher of the Week honor for Kenley.
